On Thursday night I attended the opening of the new Oakley store in Times Square. The media event was hosted by pro-skateboarder Ryan Sheckler and in attendance were quite a few other lovely looking (probably also intelligent and incredibly talented) people. The Oakley O-Lab were there to mingle with the guests and help explain the product while plenty of drinks and hors d'oeuvres were passed around.

I loved the vibe at the event. Everyone was easy going and eager to please. The Oakley representatives were more than happy to chat about the brand. They gave us a short demonstration and explanation of the High Definition Optics that puts their product ahead of their competitors. For a company that projects such a laid back vibe, they take their eye wear very seriously.

The grand opening to the public was Saturday the 10th. They posted special deals throughout the day on their Twitter page. If you missed that, you can check out the store at 1515 Broadway in Times Square. I'm so glad I was able to attend the event and pick up my free pair of Oakley's. It was a great night.
I ran into fellow New York blogger Sara Zucker while I was there. I met Sara when she was running around the city as part of the Tumblr bloggers during February fashion week (She was nice enough to take a few pictures of Terra and I together after we all had brunch). New York is a big city, but sometimes it really does feel like a small town.
