Scenes from a Weekend : V

scenesfromawkndV
I stayed in the city this weekend because a very special lady was having a birthday celebration. Saturday I got my haircut at Toni and Guy. I'm trying to grow it out, go for a long 70's with bangs kind of look, so it was nothing dramatic just a reshape. My favorite part is of course the little head massage they give you when they wash your hair. I wish that never ended. If you're looking for a good place to go in the city I'd definitely recommend them. Even when I lived in different cities I'd make the trek to get my haircut there. The few times I didn't I was always disappointed with the results from other salons. You should give them a try if you live in the area.

I took the long way home and did some window shopping and real shopping on the way back to my apartment where I bought a smaller french press to make my yerba mate in. When I got back I took Lua for a walk up to the park. My mind is always skipping through a million different things when we're walking. I wish I could carry a pad and write as I walk, but that'd be kind of tricky.

The always lovely Kim from Eat Sleep Wear came to the city this weekend with her boyfriend Brian and some of their Philly friends in tow to celebrate her birthday. I'm so glad that I got the chance to hang out with Kim again! She's been such a wonderful friend these past few months and I love spending time with her. She's about as genuine as they come. It was a welcome break to meet some new faces and hear some new stories. We swung by Magnolia Bakery for a birthday treat for Kim and serenaded her with a terribly off key "Happy Birthday" right there on the sidewalk.

MelissaChristine, and Jenni were among the group out to celebrate with Kim. Sometimes I really can't believe that this little project I started has given me the opportunity to meet so many interesting people. I can't wait to hang out with everyone again in the city.

I woke up very late Sunday morning and started the day off right with an egg sandwich and of course a yerba mate. I can't go a day without them now. This weekend was exactly what I needed. Had it not been for Kim being born, this weekend might have gone a very different direction for me. So thank you Kim for being born. I don't know what I would have done without you.

With that said, I'm off! I'm heading to visit a very good friend for a few days (you'll get filled in on that Wednesday afternoon). I'm so happy to have some of my favorite ladies sit in for me while I'm gone. I asked each of them to post something special, so make sure you check back to see what it's all about!
This vacation could not have come at a better time for me. I'm ready to have a break from here and get some new experiences under my belt. I'll be tweeting as per usual, except I'm sure my tone will be much much happier. I'm so excited to see what is going to be popping up here! Talk to you all soon!

Aw, glad you got a chance to hang out with the girls. And seriously, that leg picture IS crazy awesome, as Kim said. It looks totally editorial, in the coolest possible way.

Dear Morgan,

I just found your blog via weardrobe and I am more than grateful to the universe that I did. Your day to day musings and simple but timeless outfits are such an inspiration for me.

I am adding you to my daily reads page as I write this.

Love from Toronto, Canada

Thank God for little Kims. She's fantastic. I have to echo your sentiments about starting a blog. I too have met so many amazing, supportive, strong women. It's those things that I hold on to when I'm feeling overwhelmed by it all.
