Scenes from a Weekend : XVII

wknd  wknd
This past weekend was a little bit of waiting around until last minute. There were people coming to the city, and then there were people not coming to the city, and then they were coming again, and then they weren't. On top of that it was my Dad's Birthday this weekend! So I had to make sure to get home at some point and spend time with my parents. Friday, I hunkered down in my apartment with Lua for the day and watched 180° South on repeat. Which probably prompted Friday's post about finding the thing you're passionate about and pursuing it.

Saturday morning I got my yoga fix in bright and early, then stopped for a decaf treat on the walk home. I don't have coffee during the week, you know how much I love my yerba mate, but I really like grabbing a cup of joe on the weekends. It was on the cusp of raining all day, so I stayed in to try and catch up on a few things.

That night I braved the weather to meet up with Lisa from Tree & Kimball and her sister. The lovely Melissa braved her cold and came with me in the torrential down pour to Brooklyn. We made stops at The Manhattan Inn, Five Leaves, and a magical place where they mix cinnamon and vanilla with your tequila. It was an incredibly fun and laid back night bouncing around with some really great people.

The sun finally came out on Sunday and I drove all the way to my parents with the sun roof open. Since it was my Dad's Birthday that weekend I knew I had to bake something delicious. I found an Ina Garten recipe for Oatmeal Raisin Cookies. They came out pretty delicious. We went to an easy dinner that night and my Dad enjoyed all the cookies he wanted when we he got home.

At some point during the day Lua decided it was a good idea to go in my parents backyard and roll around in something gross and smelly. It was bath time for her after that. It was all around a great weekend.

It looks and sounds like you had a great weekend. Yoga, coffee, cookies, and dogs - some of my favorite things! My dogs LOVE rolling around in gross stuff! We were visiting family once and Kya (my lab/husky mix) decided it would be fun to go out to a cow pasture and roll in cow pop. She was covered! YUCK.

So my jaw dropped on the floor when you said you don't drink coffee during the week! Here is my caffeine regimen: 2 cups of tea in the morning, 1 or 2 cups of coffee at work, more tea for lunch and dinner. Now that I typed it all up, I feel like I may be an addict;) heehee..

Anyways, I still love that pic of Lua. She looks so happy to be getting a bath! I can only imagine what she got herself into.

Manhattan Inn is one of my fave spots in Brooklyn!! Love the piano player on Saturday nights :)

Hahaha yeah Donna loves rolling in smelly stuff too. She has a process though (sniff/snort with her nose to the ground for a long time, then slooowwwwllyyy lower her shoulder so the aim is just right, then roll) ...so sometimes we can catch her before she makes her move!

Morgan, I love your weekend recaps. It's fun to get to know more about you by reading about how you spend your time when you're not taking outfit shots. All this travel talk has me soooooo curious - keep sending questions my way as they come. I love helping with stuff like that!

Lua is impossibly cute. I mean, look at her getting a bath!

I need to click that link for 180 degrees south if it is something thats going to prompt me to be passionate about pursuing something.

This might sound so weird, but I really do think if we lived near eachother we could really be friends. Cookies, peanut butter and banana, yoga, yerba mate, tequila...
