Way back when in college Kevin made me breakfast in bed for my birthday week. This was no small feat then because Kevin's house was basically unsanitary. I guess that's what you get when you put 6 huge college football players in one small place. He somehow managed to store the food at his place for the day. The sneaky part was in the morning. Kev woke up at my place, snuck out, drove to his house, picked up the food, drove back to my house, and cooked me a full breakfast without me ever waking up. The menu included, orange juice, eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast, tea and I somehow remember jam being involved. It was served to me, in bed, on a baking sheet. I don't know any college students who has a serving tray, so this was the next best thing.
I'm going to pretend that he is doing this for me this week. At the point in our relationship when we live near each other I'd like to think this would be great tradition to keep up. I'd do it for his birthday too, and every year we'd make each other breakfast in bed for our birthday weeks.
It was the first time anyone has ever made me breakfast in bed and I have to say it was a great experience. It was so thoughtful and time consuming for him. He really put a lot of effort into it. If you've never experienced breakfast in bed I recommend that you ask for it.
Thank you Kev for my way back when birthday week breakfast. I was lucky enough to get a Happy day-before-your Birthday text this morning!
Does anyone have any birthday traditions?

Trevor does something different for my birthday every year, but we always start celebrating "birthweek" no matter where my birthday falls in the week. My actual birthday is always the main event, but he does little things leading up to it.
But the main tradition, every year since we first started dating, he makes me a homemade ice cream cake. :)
