Pastel Sky

Style, July 9th
Friday night Kev and I headed over to a friends house for some drinks and some socializing. On the way we stopped at one of my favorite places. It was a little after eight at night and the sun was just going down. One of the things I love about summer is how long the days are. The sunsets are always beautiful at this spot. Even if it's overcast or foggy the suns seems to peak through and make it beautiful, even if it's just for a moment. I wrote a long time ago about this place. I'm really happy to show you one of the reasons I love it so much.

This is also the night it happened. The last night my Jeffrey Campbell Sandals were alive. I was sitting on my friends sofa when I felt a sharp poke. To my horror, I realized that a few nails had come loose and were sticking in the side of my foot.

I was really upset for a few reasons. I love the shoes, I had only actually worn them twice before, they were originally expensive (I bought them on sale), and they seemed to be well crafted, sturdy shoes. We went out from my friends house and luckily I had a stock pile of shoes in my car. I usually leave them there because they're so heavy to carry up and down the stairs at my apartment and since I'm traveling with a change of shoes every weekend it's just easier to leave them in the car. So this outfit ended up with black espadrilles instead.

But wait there's hope! My dad was able to fix them this past weekend. Good thing they're made of suede and wood. I'm planning on wearing them again this weekend for a wedding and some general dress up, so I hope they hold up!

I had no idea my hair was so big (for me) and wild until I looked back through pictures of the night. All the salt in the air gives my hair a wave and pouf. I happen to like it. The breeze coming through that night made my shirt shift around giving the layers really nice movement. Here's a casual way I've worn the shirt in the past.

I'm nearing the end of all my vacation posts. Is there anything special you would like to see in the coming days?

Is that a flower ring? Cute! Too bad about the shoes - glad you could fix them though.

Lovely photos! Sorry to hear about your Jeffrey Campbells. That really stinks. I wore a hole in the sole of a pair of shoes I bought at Urban Outfitters and I only had them about a month...so yeah, it's a real bummer.

I'm embarrassed by how long it's been since I commented in your blog.. Like I'm slinking back inside with my tail between my legs to sit sheepishly in a corner. But I'm back and that's what matters. That top is gorg on you. You look like a modern flowy Indian with your glossy hair and tan..have I complimented you enough to make up for my absence? I can't wait to meet you and give you a big awkward lingering hug and molest your dog. Ps that's what I want to see more of...the other lady this blog is named after..make it happen. Kees!

I love your hair like that! I always like mine better when it's a bit on the wild side haha. Beautiful pictures, like usual!
